Shawn Hicks obtained a B.A. degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science from California State University, Fullerton in May 2015. He has been with Makita USA since December 2015, and is currently an eCommerce Support Specialist for the National Accounts team which includes Amazon.com. Proactive in managing Makita’s advertising strategy on Amazon’s platform, Shawn has effectively increased return on advertising spend by 15% over the previous year.
He also manages Makita’s Brand Store on Amazon.com, working with Makita’s in house creative team to provide a best-in-class shopping experience. This is a continuously changing Brand Store presence for Makita, and Shawn utilizes various advertising strategies to direct traffic to relevant pages within the store.
Shawn is constantly testing advertising campaign strategies as well as researching data provided by Amazon’s reporting system in order to more effectively advertise without wasting spend. A new partnership with ChannelAdvisor is already assisting Makita in implementing its strategies through Sponsored Product advertisements.
